From Sunshine Review
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Caddo Parish is one of sixty-four parishes in Louisiana. A parish, in Louisiana, is the equivalent of a county in other states.
Caddo Parish operates under a Home Rule Charter adopted by the voters that became effective in 1984. That means that it operates under a "Commission-Administration" form of government. The Caddo Parish Commission is composed of twelve elected Commissioners and constitutes the Legislative branch of the parish government. The commissioners are elected to four-year terms from single member districts.
Its estimated budget for 2008 is about $66 million.
